  1. Compare bathing vs. showering for water usage. Mark height of water with tape during bath, take a shower with tub stopper, compare water  level.
  2. Install the tub stopper before turning on the water. Initial cold water can be warmed by adding hot water.
  3. The difference between a five minute and a ten minute shower could mean a savings of up to 45 gallons. Install water saving shower heads.
  4. A dishwasher uses 3-5 times as much water as washing dishes by hand.
  5. Only wash full loads in your dishwasher. Soak pots/pans overnight to save.
  6. Don't run tap water waiting for it to cool. Keep a bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator instead.
