1 . DYE TEST ALL TOILETS The purpose of this test is to determine if your toilet has money wasting leak. A large leak could waste hundreds of
gallons of water each day and add several hundred dollars to your annual water and sewer bill. If you are on a septic tank, the same leak could be even more expensive. 2. CHECK ALL FAUCETS FOR LEAKS A leaky faucet can waste over 200 gallons of water per day. See chart for cost approximation. Also, allowing faucets to continue leaking can cause further damage resulting in more expensive repairs.
3. CHECK ALL EXPOSED HOT AND COLD WATER SUPPLIES Supply lines can deteriorate and even rupture. Deterioration lines can usually be detected and replaced before a serious leak and damage occurs. 4. ALL SINK PIPING WILL BE CHECKED Corroded and deteriorated traps can be detected and replaced before they cause problems. 5. ALL DRAINS WILL BE CHECKED
Drains that are not "free running" are likely to become completely clogged. 6. WASHING MACHINE HOSES WILL BE CHECKED Hoses deteriorate with age and can rupture and cause damage. 7. ALL HOSE BIBS WILL BE CHECKED FOR LEAKS Un-repaired leaks waste money and can be hazardous. 8. CHECK ALL EMERGENCY WATER SHUTOFFS FOR PROPER OPERATION
Non-working emergency shut offs are of no use when really needed and can fail when used, causing a bigger problem.
1 . CHECK OPERATION OF ALL ELEMENTS One or more heating elements can be burned out and you may be going without adequate supply of hot water needlessly. 2. CHECK THERMOSTAT OPERATION It may be possible to reduce your thermostat setting, save money on your electric bill, and still assure an adequate supply of hot water. 3. CHECK CONDITIONS OR WIRING
Loose or worn can lead to loss of hot water and can be dangerous. 4. CHECK FOR WATER LEAKS Leaks may indicate a serious problem. When leaks are found early, appropriate action can be taken. 5. CHECK TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE SAFETY RELIEF VALVE A nonfunctional safety relief valve may not open when it is needed. This could result in the pressure building up to extremely high dangerous levels. 6. CHECK DRAIN VALVE The drain valve must be used for flushing as above and to drain heater for repairs and/or replacement. When your hot water heater is operating properly, it will produce more hot water for less money.
1. CHECK PILOT A dirty pilot can cause the water heater to quit producing hot water. 2. CHECK THERMOCOUPLE A gradually weakening thermocouple will eventually lockout the gas valve. This causes the water heater to stop producing hot water when you need it.
3. INSPECT FLUE PIPE Flue pipe corrosion or leaks are dangerous. They could allow combustion byproducts and carbon monoxide. This could then enter your home. 4. CHECK FOR PROPER VENT DRAFT Improper or back drafting (flue spillage) from your water heater could allow the excessive formation of carbon monoxide. This could then enter your home. 5. CHECK FOR GAS LEAKS
We will check the gas line for leaks from the water heater shut off valve to the burners. Undetected gas leaks are dangerous and result in higher gas bills. 6. CHECK FOR WATER LEAKS Leaks may indicate a future serious problem which can be costly. When leaks are found early, appropriate action can be taken. 7. CHECK TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE SAFETY RELIEF VALVE
A nonfunctional safety relief valve may not open when it is needed. This could result in the pressure building up to extremely high, dangerous levels. 8. CHECK DRAIN VALVE The drain must be used for flushing as above and to drain heater for repairs and/or replacement. When your hot water heater is operating properly, it will produce more hot water for less money. |
